Suspect arrested in fatal Hardscrabble Rd. shooting

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department say a man is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting Friday afternoon.

Around 1:10 p.m. today, Richland County deputies say the received a call of shots fired near Hardscrabble and Clemson Roads. Deputies say they then received a call of someone being hit. Once on the scene, deputies say they found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.

Deputies say the victim in that shooting has died.

He was identified by the Richland Co. Coroner’s office as Malik Gray,22, of Columbia.

Investigators say Jordan White, 19, was arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a stolen pistol.
