Sumter PD: One man arrested, another wanted for fatal shooting earlier this month

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLLO)– The Sumter Police Department says one man is in custody and another is still wanted in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month.

Police say 26-year-old Tykem Hickson turned himself in Saturday, and he is being held at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. Authorities say they are still looking for 27-year-old Javonte Marquise Durant Hickson, of Florence. According to police, both will be charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the shooting death of Tyrone Prince.

Police say they found the victim shot outside his home after 6 p.m. on November 5, while responding to a shots fired call on Rolling Creek Drive. He died on his way to an area hospital, according to officials.

According to investigators, two men were seen running from a car parked in the driveway of the home at the time of the shooting. Investigators say they were running toward Boulevard Road.
