Berkely County man sentenced for DUI crash that injured a Lexington County deputy
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– A Berkeley County man has been sentenced for a DUI collision that injured a Lexington County deputy in 2019. Authorities say 38-year-old Michael Nichols was sentenced to eight years in prison.
On June 8, 2019, investigators say Nichols was driving intoxicated in the wrong lane on South Lake Drive and hit Deputy Roy Hall’s vehicle. Officials say Hall was severely injured but survived.
Nichols will be taken to the State Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
