Saluda County Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested after fleeing from traffic stop

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Saluda County Sheriff’s Office says a man was arrested after he fled from a traffic stop early Monday morning.

Around 2 a.m., officials say Saluda Police officers conducted a traffic stop near Mack Street when Dustin V. Lawter fled from the vehicle. Authorities say the other three car occupants were brought into custody, and the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office came in to assist with the search for Lawter. Law enforcement says he was brought into custody several hours later and taken to the Saluda County Detention Center.

Authorities say Lawter is charged with several drug offenses, including trafficking methamphetamine.
