Fairfield County Coroner releases name of pedestrian killed in hit and run Friday

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill released the name of a man killed who was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling on Smallstown Road.

The coroner says 72-year-old Mark Small Sr., of Winnsboro, was attempting to cross the road after checking his mail when he was struck. Authorities say he was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver involved in the collision did not stop.

The investigation is ongoing.
