DHEC: 820 new cases of COVID-19, 12 additional deaths in SC
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released the state’s latest coronavirus data as of Monday.
DHEC reports 512 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 308 probable cases, for a total of 820 new cases in the Palmetto State. DHEC also reports six new confirmed deaths and six probable deaths due to COVID-19, for a total of 12 new virus related deaths. Since the beginning of the pandemic, DHEC says there have been 933,754 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and 14,431 virus related deaths in South Carolina.

DHEC says it received 12,940 molecular test results from the latest testing period, which yielded a percent positive rate of 6.10%.
According to the department, 59.2% of all eligible South Carolina residents ages 5 and up have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 51.1% of eligible residents are fully vaccinated.
