CNN- In consumer news, shoppers apparently turned out in droves to grab up holiday deals.
Mastercard released a new report showing u-s retail sales rose eight and half percent year-over-year between November 1 and Christmas Eve.
The credit card company pointed to clothing sales as helping drive the surge.
Mastercard also found shoppers were out earlier and many turned to brick and mortar stores this year… in part due to fears about shipping delays.
According to the report, in-store sales during the holiday period jumped more than eight percent compared to last year.
