COVID-19 leaving more airplanes understaffed, with more delays on the way

CNN– With record number COVID-19 cases nationwide, more flight delays are on the way. The Federal Aviation Administration says a number of employees are testing positive for COVID-19, leaving airports and airplanes more understaffed than they can handle.

The agency says it might be forced to implement health and cleaning procedures that would reduce the number of flights it can handle.

Since Christmas Eve, airlines have canceled more than 11,000 flights. More than 1,000 have already been scrapped for both Saturday and Sunday.
