DHEC reports fourth straight week of widespread flu activity in the state

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Aside from coronavirus, flu season is still here and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control says South Carolina is in its fourth straight week of widespread flu activity. Just this week, 175 confirmed flu cases and 16 hospitalizations were reported.

During this entire flu season, DHEC has confirmed more than 6,300 flu cases and 243 hospitalizations in South Carolina. That’s compared to just 88 flu cases reported this same time last year.
