Cardinal Newman star selected to play in McDonald’s All-American Game

One of Cardinal Newman’s basketball stars will play in the annual McDonald’s All-American Game this year.

Ashlyn Watkins, a South Carolina commit, was selected to play in the all-star game, which tips off March 30 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Watkins is averaging over 20 points and 14 rebounds per game. Standing at 6-foot-3, she’s a five-star player, ranked the No. 4 post player in the country according to ESPNw.

Watkins will join fellow Gamecock commit Talaysia Cooper, also selected for the All-American Game.
