DSS: Lexington Medical Center officials accept infant surrendered under Daniel’s Law

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to the South Carolina Department of Social Services, officials with Lexington Medical Center recently accepted an infant that was surrendered under Daniel’s Law. Officials say the baby, a caucasian girl, was born on January 21 and surrendered under the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

Officials say Lexington County DSS took custody of the infant, and she has been placed in a foster home. A permanency hearing is scheduled for March.
