Travis Price’s mother reacts after former Rock Hill Police officer found not guilty of assault

CNN– A jury has found a former Rock Hill Police Officer not guilty after a controversial arrest last year. Jonathan Moreno was charged with third-degree assault and battery, and fired from his job with the Rock Hill Police Department.

At issue was his arrest of Travis Price, while officers were taking Price’s brother into custody. Price had gotten permission to collect his brother’s belongings, but body camera video shows that when Price went to get those items, Moreno confronted him and shoved him to the ground. Moreno says he became physical because he wanted to protect his fellow police officers.

Meanwhile, Travis Price’s mother also spoke about the not guilty verdict, saying things in the community need to change.

Initially, the jury told the judge they could not reach a verdict, but the judge asked them to continue deliberating until they reached one last night.
