LCSD: Deputies investigating shooting that injured a teenager at River Oaks Apartments

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department says deputies are investigating a shooting that injured a teenager at River Oaks Apartments Monday night. According to officials, witnesses described the shooting as a drive by. Authorities say the victim is expected to survive.

Investigators say they are looking into recent fights at Irmo High School which could be connected to the shooting. Authorities say students at the school were interviewed Tuesday morning.

The sheriff’s department says there is an increased law enforcement presence at Irmo High School as they want to be visible while working with district officials so keep everyone at the school safe.
