State leaders unveil new early childhood plan

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– State leaders are unveiling a new early childhood plan, launching a new online website for families with young children to get the care they need. SC First Steps, legislators and other state leaders presented the governor with a plan for strengthening the state’s early childhood system.

With the roll out of this new website, families with young children would be able to find information about 60 early childhood programs including child care, health care, nutrition and parenting support services. By visiting the website firstfivesc.org, parents can focus on what organizers say are the four key goals the governor needs to improve, consisting of health and safety, family support and school readiness.
