WATCH: Calhoun County wins state championship, topping Scotts Branch Friday
AIKEN, S.C. (WOLO) — Calhoun County celebrated another state championship Friday afternoon, after taking down Scotts Branch, 53-49 at USC Aiken.
The Saints won their 10th title, all under former Gamecock Zam Fredrick.
“I didn’t think about it at all leading up to the game,” said Fredrick. “I wanted our players to be focused on the things they needed to focus on, but it is very special… 10 is a lot, and it speaks volumes of the caliber of people we have at Calhoun County.”
The Saints (27-1) were led by Russell Brunson Jr, who put in 21 points Friday.
