RCSD: Woman accused of killing one of her relatives on Silver Crest Drive
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says a stabbing turned deadly this afternoon, and a woman has been charged with the murder of one of her relatives.
“It is hard to imagine what would cause someone to take the life of their relative,” Sheriff Lott said. “This is a sad example of a domestic dispute gone wrong and a woman lost her life because of it. This family is now left to mourn the loss of both family members.”
Around 12:45 p.m., deputies say they responded to calls of a woman being stabbed in the 200 block of Silver Crest Drive. Authorities on the scene say they found an injured woman who was taken to a local hospital where she died due to her injuries.
Deputies say they arrested 26-year-old Lakeisha Myers, a relative of the victim, and she is charged with murder. Authorities say she will be taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center for booking.
