Tornado sweeping through Louisiana leaves at least one dead

CNN– At least one person is dead after a tornado swept through parts of Louisiana Tuesday night. That’s according to the president of one of the hard hit parishes. He says some homes in the iconic French Quarter were lifted off the ground.

No word yet on the number of injuries, though there are reports of many seeking treatment. Overnight, search and rescue teams combed through debris and damaged neighborhoods.
