2.01 magnitude earthquake reported near Elgin

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– An earthquake was reported near Elgin this morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division says the 2.01 magnitude earthquake hit east of Elgin just after 5 a.m.

This is at least the 21st earthquake to hit the same area since December 2021.
