RCSD: Three arrested in connection with armed robberies of multiple Waffle House locations
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says three individuals have been arrested in connection with recent Waffle House robberies. Deputies say 30-year-old Michelle Kelly, 19-year-old Michael Kelly and 29-year-old Michelle Anderson were arrested in connection with the April armed robberies.
Around 7:15 p.m. on April 2, deputies say they responded to a Waffle House in the 4200 block of Hardscrabble Road after a man and woman pointed guns at the workers. Investigators say the woman demanded money and the two suspects grabbed the money before fleeing in a vehicle driven by another woman.
On April 8, deputies say they were called to a Waffle House in the 8600 block of Farrow Road for reports of a man and woman pointing weapons at staff and stealing the cash register before fleeing with their driver.
Deputies say they located the vehicle used in the robberies and were lead on a high speed chase before bringing the vehicle to a stop. Authorities say they took all three individuals into custody.
According to authorities, Michelle Kelly is charged with four counts of armed robbery, one count of reckless driving and one count of failure to stop for blue lights. Michael Kelly is charged with four counts of armed robbery, four counts of kidnapping, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful carry of a pistol. Michelle Anderson is charged with four counts of kidnapping, four counts of armed robbery and unlawful carry of a pistol.
All three individuals were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
