Passengers react to masks no longer being required at CAE

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– After a federal judge ruled the current federal travel mask mandate is unlawful, travelers here at home say they’re skipping packing their masks for flights. ABC Columbia reached out to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport today, asking what you can expect as you fly out for your spring and summer vacations.

Officials say CAE will no longer require masks while in the airport, however, they continue to encourage everyone who would still prefer to wear a mask to do so. They’re also advising travelers to check with the airline they’re flying with to ensure they know the airline’s mask policy as well.

The Charlotte-Douglas International Airport also says masks are no longer required in its airport. Passengers are still advised to check with their specific airlines about masks policies before heading to CLT.
