RCSD: Four teens charged with murder after shooting incident on Halleck Lane

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says four teenagers have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that took place near the Brookhaven community.

Around 6 p.m. on April 9, deputies say they responded to reports of shots fired in the 500  block of Halleck Lane. Once on the scene, authorities say they found the victim with apparent gunshots lying in the roadway. Officials say he was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Deputies say the incident was determined to be a robbery.

Investigators say they identified four male teenagers involved in the incident, and they are each charged with murder, robbery, use of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful carry. Authorities say three of the teens arrested, all 16-years-old boys, are also charged with possession of a firearm under 18.

Authorities released the name of one suspect who was arrested, 18-year-old Shalah Hibble. The rest of the suspects’ names were not released due to their age.

All four teens arrested were taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
