COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Historic levels of rain are flooding Puerto Rico today as Hurricane Fiona struck the southwest coast on Sunday.

The hurricane unleashed landslides, knocked the power grid out, and ripped up asphalt from roads. Officials have called it catastrophic.

The National Hurricane Center’s acting director says he is not sure he has ever seen rivers rise this quickly in the US.
