City of Columbia adds new leaf collection locations for residents

New leaf collection sites will open for residents to drop off their bagged leaves says the City of Columbia.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— New leaf collection sites will open for residents to drop off their bagged leaves says the City of Columbia. The new service location was added to help keep neighborhoods clean during this year’s “leaf season.”

A new roll off truck and sets of containers will be deployed weekly to collect the materials. Officials say residents can still use regular curbside service, but are encouraged to use the new drop-off locations.

Solid Waste will have containers at the following locations from November 18 through November 24:

Greenview Park 6700 David St.
Pinehurst Park 2300 Pinehurst Rd.
MLK Park 2300 Greene St.
Earlewood Park 1113 Recreation Dr.
Heathwood Park 800 Abelia Rd.

Residents can view the collection calendar online at https://publicworks.columbiasc.gov/waste-wizard/ and are encouraged to use the free Solid Waste app.

For more information, officials ask that you call the Solid Waste Division at 803-545-3800 or visit www.ColumbiaSC.gov.
