Carolina Refractories expanding with 30,000-square-foot facility, creating 38 new jobs

The Governor's Office announced Carolina Refractories, Inc. is expanding operations in Horry County.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— The Governor’s Office announced Carolina Refractories, Inc. is expanding operations in Horry County. The company’s $3.7 million investment will create 38 new jobs.

Carolina Refractories is a world-wide supplier of monolithic refractories, or unshaped material that doesn’t break down in extreme temperatures. They serve the steel, aluminum, cement, power and paper industries, and others.

The expansion will include a new 30,000 square-foot facility with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. The facility, located at Ascott Valley Industrial Park in Conway, is expected to be completed by late 2023.
