NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WOLO)– A 23 year-old North Charleston man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually exploiting a minor, say authorities.

Investigators say David Curtis White was found to have persuaded and coerced an underage victim to produce sexually explicit material after falsely portraying himself as a minor.

White communicated with the minor on an online chat website and exchanged Snapchat usernames with the victim.

Authorities found hundreds of child pornography images and videos on the suspect’s electronic devices after searching through his residence.

United States District Judge Richard M. Gergel sentenced White to 120 months imprisonment, followed by a life-term of court-ordered supervision.
