Kershaw Co., S.C. (WOLO)–Kershaw County deputies say a 15 year old boy is in custody after stabbing his adoptive parents, killing one of them Monday.

It happened at a home on McGee Ct. in Elgin at 4:44 and he was arrested about an hour later on Elginwood Dr.

According to investigators, the suspect stabbed and killed his adoptive mother, Angelymar Morrison, 41 and stabbed his adoptive father, who was released from the hospital.

They also said he was living with the victims since December 2021.

He was disciplined many times in the Kershaw County School District since he enrolled in January last year for non-violent rebellious behavior.

In a statement on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page Sheriff Lee Boan says, “We have no reason to believe the public is in danger now that the only suspect is in custody. Thankfully, with the team effort of multiple law enforcement agencies, we were able to get this suspect in custody before anyone else was hurt.”
He will be petitioned by deputies in family court for murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
He is currently being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
