Former Richland County deputy arrested on DUI charges
A former deputy with the Richland County Sheriff's Department has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— A former deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
Authorities say 68 year-old Grover Kelly was charged with driving under the influence after SC Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle collision on Feb. 13.
Kelly was driving his personal vehicle and was off duty at the time.
The incident occurred in the Blythewood area at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Kelly’s most recent rank was deputy III in the warrant division. The former deputy had been with the Sheriff’s Department since June 1976.
