COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— A historic building on a Midlands college campus is getting a facelift.

Benedict College was recently awarded more than $130,000 from the National Parks Service as part of the equal rights program for phase two of the Duckett Hall rehabilitation project.

Built in 1925, the building now houses the Business and Entrepreneurship School.

A celebration was held Tuesday in honor of that funding.

This year, the National Park Service will invest nearly $4.5 million for projects in the Palmetto State and across the nation to preserve sites associated with the struggle to gain equal rights for all.
