Get Connected SC aims to provide high-speed internet to all South Carolinians

At the State House, Governor Henry McMaster and Congressman Jim Clyburn announced a new bi-partisan initiative to increase broadband access in the Palmetto State.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— At the State House, Governor Henry McMaster and Congressman Jim Clyburn announced a new bi-partisan initiative to increase broadband access in the Palmetto State.

The campaign, known as Get Connected SC, aims to invest in broadband infrastructure and bring reliable, high-speed internet to every South Carolinian.

As part of the initiative, the campaign will travel to 26 communities for a listening tour to get feedback from community members.

You can also complete a survey on its website about internet service in your area that will help shape the initiative’s five year plan.

According to get Connected SC, $400 million has already been approved for the project by the General Assembly and additional funding is expected.
