Murdaugh’s former law partner, friend testifies

It’s day 22 now in the double murder trial of Alex Murdaugh.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)—It’s day 22 now in the double murder trial of Alex Murdaugh. The disbarred low country attorney is accused of killing his wife and son.

After four weeks of testimony from prosecutors, the defense is now making their case to try and prove Murdaugh’s innocence.

Court this morning began with Mark Ball, a former law partner and long-time friend of Alex, on the witness stand.

During cross examination, Ball testified while the Murdaugh family appeared to be close-knit and loving, he said Alex clearly fooled him regarding who he was, referring to Murdaugh’s alleged financial crimes.

The defense expects to rest its case sometime Friday afternoon.
