The COMET accepting applications for leadership program

The COMET is accepting applications for The COMET Academy, a free leadership program for individuals interested in learning how public transit works.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)—The COMET is accepting applications for The COMET Academy, a free leadership program for individuals interested in learning how public transit works. The deadline to apply is March 2.

Most classes will be held virtually, once a week on Monday at 5:30 p.m. for 60 minutes, and will include topics such as history, financing, program partnerships and organizational structure.

The sessions begin March 6 and end April 3. Graduation is on April 17.

The first meeting will be an in-person introduction at COMET headquarters at 3613 Lucius Road, say officials.
