VP Kamala Harris to visit Benedict College today

Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting Benedict College to discuss the Biden administration’s efforts in expanding high-speed internet nationwide.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting Benedict College to discuss the Biden administration’s efforts in expanding high-speed internet nationwide.

This comes after U.S. Representative James Clyburn and Governor Henry McMaster announced the Get Connected SC program, a campaign to bring high speed internet to everyone in the state.

The SC Broadband Office says around 137,000 homes do not have broadband access as of September of last year, which is a decrease of 221,000 homes reported in 2021.
