COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Columbia Police says the suspect responsible for shooting and injuring a man outside the Walmart on Garners Ferry Road has turned himself in.
Drevonte Javis Nelson is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime after he shot a man he knew following an argument during a child custody exchange, say officials.
The man was sent to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury on his lower body. The child was not physically injured.
The incident occurred before 6 p.m. outside the store.
