Driver dies after crashing into a utility pole & tree in Clarendon County

CLARENDON CO., S.C. (WOLO) – A driver is dead after crashing into a pole and a tree Sunday night.

Highway Patrol said it happened around 11:30 p.m. on Loss Brook Road.

According to investigators, the 26-year-old driver from Sumter, went off the right side of the road, hit a utility pole, then overturned and hit a tree.

The driver died on scene.

The Clarendon County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim as troopers continue to investigate.
