COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) announced beginning on May 1, the Sales Tax rate in Beaufort County will increase from 6% to 7%.
The increase is due to a 1% County Green Space local tax, the first in the state, say officials.
The Sales Tax in Sumter County is expected to decrease on May 1 from 8% to 7% after its Capital Projects Sales Tax ends.
SCDOR is encouraging the public to file using MyDORWAY, where all local tax changes are applied automatically.
