Senior Resources seeking volunteers and donations

Midlands Meals on Wheels is seeing progress after having a waitlist of more than 100 seniors needing support in the area.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Midlands Meals on Wheels is seeing progress after having a waitlist of more than 100 seniors needing support in the area.

Senior resources says its Meals on Wheels program was able to clear out its waitlist yet there is anticipation of an increase of seniors due to inflation and the current economy.

Organizers say the program is feeling the weight of inflation with a 40% increase in food cost and gas.

Senior resources is asking for community help through volunteering and donations because without these services, their senior clients are left in a tough situation.
