South Carolina quarterback intends to transfer

One Gamecock quarterback is entering the transfer portal this week.

Backup Braden Davis announced on social media Wednesday his intentions to transfer out of the program, after signing with the Gamecocks last season over offers from eight SEC schools and Clemson.

Davis redshirted his freshman season and didn’t play a snap for USC.

He was one of six quarterbacks on Carolina’s spring football roster and becomes the second QB to transfer out of USC this year, joining Jalen Daniels.

Davis is the fourth player to enter the portal from USC, joining defensive lineman Demetrius Watson (who also announced his intentions Wednesday), offensive lineman Collin Henrich, and defensive back Anthony Rose.
