Dominion Energy warns customers of solar sales representatives posing as employees

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Dominion Energy is warning customers of an ongoing scam involving solar panel sales.

Officials say solar sales representatives are posing as Dominion Energy employees or contractors to customers.

The energy company says it does not install residential solar panels, does not partner with solar companies, and it does not ask for payment or personal information in person.

Customers who believe they were misled by a solar leasing company can call the the S.C. Office of Regulatory Staff at 800-922-1531.
