Police: Seventh suspect arrested in deadly kidnapping in Mexico
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— A seventh suspect has been arrested for the deadly kidnapping that killed two South Carolinians in Mexico.
Authorities say Jose Angel is facing charges for his role in the incident back in March.
According to investigators, Latavia McGee says she and three of her friends traveled from South Carolina to Matamoros, Mexico so she could get cosmetic surgery.
They were then kidnapped by the Mexican cartel, who investigators say mistook them for drug smugglers.
McGee and Eric Williams survived while Zindell Brown and Shaeed Woodard were killed.
Six other suspects have been charged in the investigation.
