SC Attorney General to host Backpack Giveaway this Friday at State House!

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office wants to help kids start the school year off right!

The backpack giveaway goes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. this Friday at the State House.

Curtis spoke with Hensley Parks, the Office’s Prevention Education Coordinator, who says the backpacks will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.

They will be packed with plenty of school supplies like pencils, notebooks, etc.

The event will also introduce the South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force’s new initiative, TraffickProofSC.

The statewide prevention education curriculum aims to highlight the importance of educating kids and their families on the realities of human trafficking.

For more information or to volunteer to help, you can contact Mr. Parks at HensleyParks@scag.gov.
