Subway to freshly slice sandwich meat
COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN)— Starting today, Subway restaurants will freshly slice its deli meat.
Most of its stores will display a $6,000 slicer prominently near the counter.
The meat—including turkey, pepperoni, roast beef, ham, and salami—will be sliced several times a day.
This brings Subway more in line with its smaller competitors like Jimmy John’s, Jersey Mike’s, and Firehouse Subs.
Cheese, steak, and rotisserie chicken will still be delivered pre-sliced.
To promote the change, Subway is rolling out four new sandwiches.
