Richland deputies investigate attempted inmate escape
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Richland County deputies are investigating after an inmate at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center attempted to escape.
Authorities responded to the jail on July 17 before 3:30 a.m. after staff notified them that two inmates had possibly escaped.
It was determined only one inmate was unaccounted for. The subject had stacked chairs and climbed through a hole in the ceiling, say deputies.
The escapee was located inside the building. Charges are currently pending.
