Report: Consumer spending up for 3rd month

COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN)— The latest economic data shows that despite ongoing inflation worries, consumers are spending more money.

Today the Commerce Department reported that shopping at U.S. retailers was up in June, for the third straight month raising two-tenths of a percent which is slightly lower than the half a percent increase that economists had been expecting.
