ABC’s of Education: Update to policy for children with disabilities

COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN)— The U.S. Department of Education is taking steps to strengthen the rights of children with disabilities.

The Department announced updates to its policy guidance today. It includes ensuring kids with disabilities ages three to 21 receive a free public school education.

They would also be provided with access to early interventions services including for toddlers and infants.

The policy goes into effect immediately.
