Pet of the Week: Royal!

LEXINGTON CO.,SC (WOLO)- Meet Royal! This 2-year-old Boxer mix is looking for her forever home through Lexington County Animal Services.

Royal certainly lives up to her name; she is such a sweet and gentle princess! Royal was found as a stray in June, and has since been spayed and fully vaccinated.

Shelter officials say Royal is great with other dogs and showed no negative signs when visiting the cat room. She would love a nice couch to lay on in her new home, or even some kids to give her lots of love. Meet-and-greets are always recommended to ensure the best adoption fit!

Starting August 1st, Lexington County Animal Services is taking part in the Clear the Shelters event and offering free adoptions. With 77 animals up for adoption there right now, and even more who haven’t yet made it to the adoption floor, shelters are in crisis mode and encouraging everyone able to adopt. “Every dog or cat that’s adopted is going to make space for another one. Then another one can get moved over. So you’re essentially saving a couple lives,” says Lisa Thomas with Lexington County Animal Services.
