Columbia man sentenced to 10 years on federal drug charge

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— A Columbia man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana.

Arma Victor Strong, III, 33, was arrested on July 8, 2021 after authorities found a shoebox containing marijuana, pills containing methamphetamine, and cocaine in the backseat of his car during a traffic stop on Two Notch Road.

Authorities were alerted to his vehicle after Richland County investigators in an unmarked car in a motel parking lot on Nates Road saw a person walk over to the defendant’s car and engage in a drug deal.

Strong has prior felony state convictions for possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

There is no parole in the federal system.
