Sumter Police: Reward offered for information leading to arrest for September shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A reward is being offered for any information on a September shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

The Sumter Police Department are continuing the investigating into a shooting that happened in the area of Brand Street in Sumter.

On Sept. 20, a man was found in the roadway on Brand Street with a gunshot wound by officers who were responding to reports of shots fired around 10:45 p.m.

Paul Shereshaw, 42, of Charlotte, was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey, where he died a short time later.

Police said, another man was shot while standing nearby as gunfire began.

An unoccupied car parked in the area also was hit by bullets.

Police are hoping anyone has information on who might have done the shooting or a description of vehicles in the area and more.

A reward of $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in the shooting.
