Columbia firefighters respond to early morning house fire, one pet died
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The Columbia-Richland Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire.
According to the Columbia-Richland Fire Department, first-shift crews entered a home that caught on fire on Jefferson Street around 11:30 a.m.
Firefighters contained the fire to one room and managed to extinguish it, said officials.
One pet at the home did die and two people were displaced.
A social media post from the Columbia-Richland Fire Department’s Twitter/X page said the rest of the house suffered damages from the smoke and heat of the fire.

Fire investigators said the fire is under investigation.
