Fairfield County deputies: Arrest made after mattress factory receives bomb threat
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest after a mattress factory received a bomb threat.
Fairfield County deputies say they assisted with the evacuation of the Winnsboro factory after receiving a report of a bomb threat this morning.
A MLILY employee said they received a call with the caller indicating a bomb threat before deputies were alerted.
Investigators checked for suspicious packages and any other threats at the scene.
“I’m proud of our deputies for the professionalism and diligence displayed during this investigation which resulted in a quick arrest of the suspect. I want to thank the MLILY employees and their security team for their assistance and cooperation in this matter,” said Sheriff Will Montgomery.
The investigation into the threat is ongoing, said Sheriff Montgomery.
