Woman arrested in Augusta in connection with Columbia hotel death

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A 23-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a homicide on Oct. 18, said The Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Chelsea Lee Miller is accused of shooting a woman at the Red Roof Inn located in the 7000 block of Nates Road.

Deputies say a woman was found unresponsive at the hotel by employees before deputies arrived at the scene to find the woman with a gunshot wound.

Miller was found by the RCSD Fugitive Task Force with help from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department in Augusta. G.A.

She was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Investigators say she is currently at the Richmond County Jail in Augusta awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.
